Femi Fani Kayode, the former Aviation Minister reacts to a stern warning issued by Coalition of Northern Groups, CNGs to State governors who are opposing the Ruga Settlement Initiative, to reconsider their decision within a period of 30 days..
Recall, that the President Muhammadu Buhari-led Federal Government had on Wednesday, announced the suspension of the Ruga Initiative, which it proposed to resolve the clashes between Farmers and Herdsmen, around the country.
But, Abdul-Azeez Suleiman, SpokesMan for the CNGs, stated that, the dispute with respect to the Initiative, is already provoking resentment among the Herders, who are of Fulani extraction.
He also warned about the consequences that will follow, if the Herders are not allowed “to enjoy their citizens’ rights of living and flourishing in any parts of this country, including the South, then no one should expect us to allow any Southerner to enjoy the same in Northern Nigeria.
But Kayode, while reacting to the threat by the CNGS group took to his Twitter handle @reakffk and wrote; To the AREWA Youths who dared to say that every SOUTHERNER MUST LEAVE THE NORTH WITHIN 30 DAYS UNLESS RUGA IS IMPLEMENTED I SAY, STOP THE THREATS AND JUST DO IT! THE SOONER THIS DANCE BEGINS THE BETTER! 30 DAYS IS TOO LONG! YOU WILL REAP THE WHIRLWIND THAT YOU HAVE SOWN!
We are waiting for you! This time around we are ready. There will be no settlement, no peace and no turning back! MACBETH Said” I SHALL FIGHT TILL THE FLESH BE HACKED FROM MY BONES AND DAMNED BE HE WHO FIRST CRIES HOLD!” BETWEEN US I SAY ‘DAMNED BE HE WHO FIRST CRIES HOLD!
