The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) is leaving no stone unturned as the party has commenced mobilization of its members across the state, especially in the local government areas where re-run elections are to be conducted.
Leading a powerful delegates of the party in the tour, the state youth leader of the party, Abdul Quadri Sonekan on friday November 6, visited many wards and local government in Ogun east Senatorial district to charge members to come out en-masse to work for the party’s victory during the re-run elections.
The APC state youth leaders also met with some stakeholders in his bid to appeal to any aggrieved members to sheath their swords now and work harmoniously towards achieving success and reclaim the party’s stolen mandates.
Areas visited yesterday were Ijebu Ode and Ijebu East local government areas.
Speaking with stakeholders, the youth leader,who was accompanied by some state officials appealed to members to join hands to ensure that the party come out victorious at the end of the re-run.
He charged them to continuously support the rebuilding mission of the governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, posited that, Ogun people will have the cause to be proud of this state in few years to come.
He said: “Let me say something here, we should not allow internal bickering amongst us to deprive us of victory in the coming rerun elections that will be coming majorly from this axis of the state.
“I understand that some members are not happy, either with the system or the candidates, but what is paramount to us is that we should not avoid to win the elections. Let’s sheath our swords as being preached all the time by ‘Oga’, he want us to manage this victory, assuring that no member will be deprived of what is rightly belong to him or her.
“This is not my final visit, we will still be coming here and other areas where re-run is expected to be conducted.
” Yes, we are aware that some of them have ran to appeal court to challenge the tribunal judgment, that does not stop us from preparing our members and sensitizing them ahead of the rerun.
“I know, with the judgment given at the tribunal and with the explanation, our victory will by God’s grace, be affirmed at the appellate court.
“Let’s work together and forget the past. We should have learnt one or two lessons from our past mistakes, which cost us all these and we must not fall in the same pit, this time around. Together, victory shall be ours.”
It would be recalled that the election petition tribunal sitting in Abeokuta, the Ogun state capital had on October 9, sacked some federal and state lawmakers under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and ordered a re-run elections.
