By Adeboye Amosu: Former Super Eagles striker Peter Utaka has joined Danish First Division (second tier) club Velke Boldklub on a four-month deal, reports Completesportsnigeria.com.
Velke Boldklub announced Utaka’s arrival at the club on their website on Thursday.
“VB has signed a contract with Peter Utaka until 30 June 2018. The 34-year-old Nigerian comes to VB after having last played in Japan and has been training with VB during the training camp in Turkey,” reads the statement on the club’s website.
Utaka is also thrilled to have linked up with the club and hopes to help them secure promotion to the Superliga.
”I know Vejle have a very talented team and there is great quality in the squad. I have seen this by myself during training,” Utaka stated after penning his contract.
”The club owners know me and I also know that the club’s ambition level is high. Both for the coming half season and for the future in general.
“I have an ambition for the next five months in the red shirt and the teammates to complete the important mission this spring. VB will be back in the top division in Denmark, where the club belongs.”
Velke sit at the top of First Division with 38 points three more than second-placed Thisted after 19 rounds of matches.
