The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has provided the documents requested by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and its candidate, Atiku Abubakar as ordered by the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal (PEPT).
The INEC on Thursday submitted before the Tribunal cartons of documents used during the election as requested by Atiku and the PDP.
It was gathered that the electoral body handed over 45 cartons of the materials to the PDP and Atiku’s lawyer, Chris Uche (SAN).
It was earlier reported that the Tribunal on Wednesday, ordered the INEC Chairman, Mahmood Yakubu and the Zamfara State Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) to provide the electoral documents requested by the petitioners.
After the proceedings, PDP’s counsel informed newsmen that the party and its candidate will formally tender the documents on Friday, when the case is expected to end.
