Ayodele Fayose, the governor of Ekiti state has condemned the activities of some University lecturers who harass female students.

Speaking at the 22nd Convocation of the College of Education, Ikere-Ekiti, the governor accused some lecturers of smoking Indian hemp, harassing female students and victimising male students, The Nation reports.

Fayose said: “A lecturer should not be found intimidating and harassing female students. Remember that those female students being harassed and victimised, it may be the turn of your children tomorrow.

“Some lecturers smoke Indian hemp, they teach students how to manipulate books, converting 15 to 51”.

Two distinguished Nigerians, Ifeanyi Ubah, the chairman of Capital Oil and Gas, and Senator Abiodun Olujimi, the deputy minority whip of the Senate, received honorary fellowships while 2,348 students graduated.

Fayose congratulated the graduating students and advised them to be of good behaviour anywhere they find themselves.

The Ekiti governor also accused some political leaders of intimidating fellow Nigerians, condemning the abuse of power.

According to him, some of political leaders need rehabilitation after leaving office because of the privileges they enjoyed while in office.

Expressing his disgust for the use of siren, he said it should have been banned in Nigeria by now.

Fayose therefore, called on the people of the state to support his administration by paying their taxes to give government the opportunity to provide amenities and infrastructures.

The Ekiti governor is one politician who speaks his mind, not caring who gets offended. He recently had accused the Akwa Ibom and Rivers states election tribunal judges of corruption in their judgments, saying they bowed to the federal might to nullify PDP’s victories in favour of President Muhhamadu Buhari’s APC. This came after the tribunal nullified the elections of Governors Emmanuel Udom and Nyesom Wike.

Fayose has kept insisting that who sees himself mainly as leader of the Hausa/Fulani and not that of the entire people of Nigeria.
