Onyeka was arraigned before Justice Onuoha Ogwe, chief judge of Abia State, on a two-count charge of impersonation and obtaining by false pretence.

He allegedly posed as a worker of EFCC and offered to help a complainant end his case if he would pay him a certain amount of money.

The petitioner was said to have become suspicious of the defendant in the course of dealing with him and he contacted EFCC.

He was advised to play along with Onyeka while the commission set a trap for him.
