…All Akpabio’s wealth are ill-gotten
By Udeme Nkanta, Uyo. 14 December, 2018
The Akwa Ibom Liberation Movement, AILM says Senator Godswill Akpabio lacks the moral right to cast assertion on Governor Udom Emmanuel, insisting that unlike Akpabio who had no roof over his head before Chief Fidelis Etim persuaded Governor Victor Attah to appoint him a Commissioner, Governor Emmanuel already was a successful banker of international repute.
The leader of the Movement, Prince Emmanuel Sam who stated this while speaking to newsmen in Uyo on Thursday said, while those who live in glass houses need not throw stones, Akpabio should not forget what this state has done for him and made him who he is today.
According to Prince Sam, prior to the appointment of Akpabio as a Commissioner by Obong Attah, he (Akpabio) never had a place to call a house of his own.
“Who was Akpabio before he was appointed a Commissioner? Sometimes the former Governor thinks Akwa Ibom people are fools. This was Akpabio who did not even have a house of his own or of his father’s. Don’t forget the house he built in remembrance of his mother was built after he became a Commissioner. All the houses he has today were gotten when he got into government”.
“Look at his Ewet Housing Estate mansion, he built that house with public funds and even pulled down the house about two times to rebuild it to his taste with stolen funds from the state treasury. Let Akpabio show us one boys quarters he can beat his chest and boldly sat this was my house in Ukana or Uyo before he became Commissioner. There is none. So he should not be talking when men who have achieved something outside government are talking”.
The Uyo born public affairs analysts said, the trending picture of Akpabio’s Ewet Housing and Shelter Afrique estate mansions should provoke in the Akwa Ibom people, the desire to rise up and take their destiny in their hands come 2019.
He said the rhetorics of Akpabio being a nationalist in 2018 to avoid going to prison under the APC amnesty deal which saw him defecting as a precondition to getting the EFCC away from his tail, exposes the APC as a party that cannot be trusted and called on Akwa Ibom people to resist the bid of past looters coming back to have access to the state treasury.
He said the decision of Akpabio to throw his weight behind Nsima Ekere whom he tried to impeach out of office as Deputy Governor, is not in the interest of the state but to protect his ruinous past and advocated an aggressive enlightenment of Akwa Ibom people to the looting and uncommon amassment of wealth through state treasury by Akpabio and the APC chieftains who today are congregating to unleash a reign of terror and blood on the state all because of 2019.
