The Akwa Ibom State Christmas Carol Night was not just a record-breaking gathering of Carol Singers but was also a gathering built to strengthen the cord that binds the people of Akwa Ibom State by bringing together choristers, citizens and attendees from every religious denomination and every part of the state in what has come to be seen as a lofty, commendable and true unity project.

It remains a vital part of the Christian worship experience, exuding an ambiance of bliss and serenity in and around the event venue and leaving a lingering nostalgia long after each edition, which routinely gets bigger than the previous.

The 2015 edition of this event was so full of life and quite breathe-taking! With the star-studded red carpet arrivals of high-profile VIPs, we could not fail to notice this delectable lady on the red carpet speaking to almost every one of them including His Excellency Chief Dr. Godswill Obot Akpabio, United States of America born human rights activist, Rev. Jesse Jackson, PDP governorship flag-bearer Mr. Udom Emmanuel, an official from St. Kitts and Nevin among other important dignitaries.

The lady? Yes! Her name is Meflyn Mbom- an anchor of the Uncommon Transformation TV Series at Akwa Ibom State Ministry of Information.

The chic, blessed with a long neck, tall stature, slender figure, fine features, copper-toned skin, and exotic accent, flew into the country from the UK a few months back where she went to study the art of TV Presentation, Documentary Film Making and Public speaking at the London Academy of Media, Film & TV.

Worthy of note on the red carpet was Gov. Akpabio’s proclamation that the 9999 Christmas Carol will still continue of his tenure!

With a blend of unique vocal and digital rendition of medley and lyrics as well as a repertoire of colourful visual decoration, dance, costumes and lighting, the ambiance in and around the event venue commanded bliss and spiritual awakening.

A unique feature added to the event was a special performance by Quartets from each of the choirs from different countries who have performed at each of the six previous editions of the Carol Night.

The quartets, from the Soweto Spiritual Singers of South Africa; the Chorale Devine de Merveilles from the Republic of Congo; the National Choir of the Federation of St. Kitts and Nevis; the Winneba International Youth Choir from Ghana and the Abuja Metropolitan Music Society (AMEMUSO) performed beautifully at the event .
