Former Inter Milan and Real Madrid left-back, Roberto Carlos has revealed he would one day love to coach Real Madrid or the Brazil national team.

 The former left-back who has been something of a journey man in Eastern Europe since he left Real Madrid says he he learning his his new trade as a coach to prepare him for the big jobs.

He told Brazilian radio station Onda Cero: “I’m working and learning here in order to come back as Real Madrid boss or head coach with Brazil, where I played for 17 years.

“I think the doors to both are open to me. If the time ever comes for me to return to Real Madrid, I’ll do it gladly.”

 

The 42-year-old also hailed the appointment of Rafa Benitez as the coach of Los Blancos.

He added: “I’d never criticise a coach of Benítez’s calibre. If he’s at Real Madrid, he must bring something to the table.”

Roberto Carlos is the current player-manager of Indian club Delhi Dynamos. At Real, Carlos won four La Liga titles and the UEFA Champions League three times
