Pharaohs of Egypt suffered a shock 1-0 defeat against Chad in the Russia 2018 World Cup first leg second round qualifier in N’djamena.
Ezechiel Ndouasel scored the only goal of the game to give Chad the surprise win against the seven-time Africa Cup of Nations winners.
Egypt will hope to reverse the scoreline when they host Chad in the return leg in Cairo.
Both teams are in the same qualifying group with the Super Eagles in the race for the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations.
Egypt top the group with six points, while the Eagles are second with four points.
Another team grouped with the Eagles, Tanzania, were held to a 2-2 draw at home against Algeria.
Goals from Elias Maguli and Mbwana Samata in the 44th and 55th minutes, gave Tanzania a 2-0 lead.
But a brace from Islam Slimani on 71 and 75 minutes secured Algeria with the draw.
