THREE CONTESTANTS, Thursday night, presented their business ideas to a 3-member panel and listeners on live radio on the maiden edition of the Umbrella Business Quest.At the end of the show, Inyene Johnson (Contestant A), a visual media expert with passion for connecting businesses with customers on the internet scored 28 votes.Regina Ita Francis (Contestant B, a Fashion designer and Agriculturist with the zeal of breeding fishes for exportation in the state polled 39 votes.Oduduobong Ndiok (Contestant C), a young Nigerian with passion for shoe making scored 15 votes.Voting was done via Calls, SMS, Whatsapp, Facebook and Panelists.
Commissioner for Environment, Dr Iniobong Essien, who featured on the Corner Talk segment, spoke on the State Government efforts in managing waste, controlling flood and erosion and in making the State greener and safer for inhabitation.
The winner of Week 1, Regina Ita Francis will now proceed to the final stage of the first batch to slug it out with winners of Week 2 and Week 3 and stand a chance of winning startup capital and business coaching and expert advisory.
The Umbrella Business Quest, a production of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Akwa Ibom State airs every Thursday between 9.00-10.30pm on COMFORT95.1 FM.
The program seeks to reward Outstanding business ideas with startup funds.
Participation is open to all irrespective of political affiliation but you MUST have a permanent voter’s card (PVC).
