According to the APC chieftain cum chairman of the occassion, “As a people, we decided to shelve aside our political leanings for the overall interest of our community. As far as I am concerned, development does not recognize tribe nor political party.
We have come out to celebrate the achievements of a cerebral representative, Hon. Mark Esset. It is an event to celebrate excellence, performance and also say ‘thank you’ to our lawmaker and the political leader.

In his remark, the village council chairman and APC bigwig in the area, Mr. Albert Akpan poured encomiums on the duo of Mark Esset and Raphael Bassey, for their love towards the people of ward 4 and Essien Ita community.

” We have tried all channels possible, even our own son who is occupying a very high office in the state rejected us when we approached him for help. We have written letters and sent delegations to every quarter, but no one could help us.
Today, the same Mark Esset that donated this transformer and got it installed and connected about 3years ago is the same man helping us again, after being in utter darkness for more than a year due to the activities of hoodlums. This is the kind of government we need”.

Also speaking, the APC ward chairman, Mr. Nsima Edem declared his admiration for the compassionate Assemblyman, stating that political party is only a vehicle for service delivery to the people. He assured the PDP lawmaker that victory is awaiting him come 2019; urging him to run for another term, so as to serve the people even better.

Similarly, the electricity committee on behalf of the benefiting communities led by Mr. Nse Inyang expressed gratitude for the swift intervention of the lawmaker. Politics should not take the place of humanity, no matter what. To my APC stalwarts and brothers, I want to thank you for the honour done me today.
You have once again demonstrated statesmanship over partisanship. I am more than humbled and poised to do even more for all. I trust God that before 2019, all of you will come over to join us in the PDP,so that we can join hands to deliver Gov. Udom and myself by 2019”.
