By James Agberebi: Malaga manager Jose Lopez has revealed that Isaac Success was dropped from his squad that lost 1-0 to Atletico Madrid because he felt the Nigerian forward would not fit into the game plan.
Success, 22, joined Malaga on loan from Premier League side Watford after struggling for playing time.
Success did not make a single league appearance for Watford in the current campaign before making the switch to Spain.
On his return to Spain, he made his debut for Malaga in their 1-0 away defeat to Las Palmas in LaLiga.
But against Atletico six days later, the former Granada player was not included in the squad.
And according to The Sun, Lopez stated he gave the green light for Success to join Malaga but confessed against Atletico, the Nigerian forward would not have been the ideal choice.
“I am the main endorsement of Isaac to come here and I think that, for this game (Atletico), the minutes he will play in, he may not be the necessary player.”
