As the presidential election draw closer, it was gathered that a vehicle belonging to the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, which was conveying non-sensitive election materials to one of the Local Government Areas in Benue state was attacked by unknown gunmen in military uniform.
According to VANGUARD, this was disclosed by the State Resident Electoral Commissioner, REC, Dr. Nentawe Yilwatda.
The Commissioner while confirming the report said; ““This is true. Recently, our vehicle which was conveying non sensitive materials was attacked along Logo area by people in military uniform.”
Meanwhile it was reported yesterday that card readers and other sensitive materials for the 2019 general elections were lost in a fire that razed a container belonging to INEC in Anambra State.
