The Convener of Concerned Nigerians, Deji Adeyanju who was arrested on November 28, 2018 has regained his freedom from the police custody.

Adeyanju was arrested with two members of the group by the Nigerian police while protesting for police neutrality in 2019 elections.

 

It was gathered that the human right activist who was the leading protester took the protest to the police headquarters in Abuja.

 

He was arraigned in court for “criminal defamatory and derogatory conduct against constituent authority and breach of law and order” in relation to “posts on his Facebook page”, among other offences.

 

Further reports said that on Monday, around 7pm he was released from the the police custody and was received by members of the human right groups.

 

According to Sahara Reporters, a member of the group said that “Adeyanju has been released and he is high spirits, hale and hearty.”
