Entertainment writers will now have a voice that will be heard whenever they speak, this is with the birth of Entertainment Writers Guild of Nigeria an umbrella body of entertainment reporters, writers, editors and publishers with local, national and international media houses to cater for neglected journalist who specialize in entertainment reporting…
The guild will be led by revered pioneer entertainment writers and it is not designed to rival the Nigerian Union of Journalists, but to compliment its existence.
Nseobong is one of Nigeria’s leading journalists who has accumulated years of experience working in leading media houses like The Guardian, The Punch, Ray Power 100.5 FM, Daily Times, and currently with THISDAY Newspaper as Assistant Editor. He will be leading the writer’s guild alongside Patrick Okon of Encomium and other ace entertainment journalists of repute.
The news was made available by Nelson NseAbasi, Publicist, entertainment entrepreneur, and artiste & event manager on the arrival of ace journalist NseObong Okon-Ekong of THISDAY Newspaper who is on a 2-day working visit to Uyo, Akwa Ibom state.
Nelson, who received Nseobong on arrival at the Akwa Ibom International Airport stated that the vision of the association is to use the media channels to promote entertainment and tourism in the state/ country where the association exists.
The association will also be a body that comprises of passionate showbiz entrepreneurs, coming together to foster co-operation for the overall development of the entertainment industry.
Additionally, as a union of journalists, the association will be a watchdog for the entertainment industry, and report its activities home and in the Diaspora.
