By Johnny Edward: Nigerian star Al-Farouq Aminu scored nine points in his 45th National Basketball Association (NBA) appearance of the season for the Portland Trail Blazers who defeated champions Golden State Warriors 123-117 at Moda Center Thursday morning.
The win was the Blazers’ 32nd of the campaign in the NBA and it also ended the their seven-game winless streak against the Golden State Warriors.
The Blazers had earlier lost their last three games this season to the Golden State Warriors.
Damian Lillard had 44 points and eight assists while CJ McCollum added 29 points for the Blazers.
The D’Tigers star admitted after the game it was a tough task defeating the star studded Warriors.
“We needed to step up and we did though it was tough achieving it,” Aminu told Blazers Edge after the game.
“We hope to build on this win.”
The Portland Trail Blazers are sixth in the Western Conference and they will face Utah Jazz away in their next game.
