Barr. Dan Abia now NDDC MD

The State Governor, Sir (Dr.) Godswill Akpabio, has expressed appreciation on behalf of the government and the good people of the state for the appointment of indigenes of the state into various key positions.
Chief Akpabio gave the commendation yesterday at the state Executive Council Meeting at Government House, Uyo, for the Commissioner of Housing and Urban Renewal, Barrister Bassey Dan Abia attended the meeting for the last time as a member.
Bar Dan Abia was recently appointed as the Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) by President Goodluck Jonathan and forwarded to the National Assembly.
The Governor called for continued support and loyalty to President Goodluck Jonathan for finding Akwa Ibom people fit to occupy such key positions.
He also hinted that President Jonathan had forwarded to the National Assembly for confirmation the name of Akwa ibom indigene for Deputy Chairman, Federal Inland Revenue Service.
The Governor commended the President for the elevation of Inyang Okoro from Ikono Local Government Area as Justice of the supreme court of Nigeria.
Chief Akpabio said that with such elevation Akwa Ibom has been integrated into the community of faith. The Commissioner for Finance Mr. Bassey Albert Akpan who spoke on behalf of his colleagues said President Goodluck Jonathan has demonstrated that loyalty was worth rewarding in governance.
He assured President Jonathan that the state will continue to stand by him in all his aspiration. Responding Barrister Dan Abia saluted Governor Akpabio for the confidence reposed on him to hold such a position in the NDDC.
Barrister Abia promised not to disappoint the people of the state, the Niger Delta, and Nigeria as a whole.
