The former Speaker of the State House of Assembly however, denied the report in a chat with The Punch correspondent in his hometown.

“It is not true, I never had any encounter with any security men and I will never have encounter with them, I am a law-abiding citizen, I don’t know where the people got their information from,” he was quoted to have said.

Mr Olabimtan has further stated that the turnout of the people for the election remains something laudable in spite of the violent build up to the polls.

Meanwhile, unofficial results have started trickling in after voting has ended in most parts of the state and collation commenced.
