Akwa Ibom 2019: Udom advice aspirants against selling properties to fund election
Akwa Ibom State Governor Mr. Udom Emanuel has cautioned aspirants aspiring for elective office in 2019 against selling of their properties.
He said there will be no compensation of any kind after the election.
The Governor made this known during a security meeting he chaired in Etim Ekpo Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State
He warned politicians to respect zoning system in their respective areas as the party will uphold zoning in their choice of candidates.
“If you know zoning does not favour you, please don’t bother spending money, don’t tell me you sold your house and properties to contest for election. I am saying it now so you won’t say you did not hear.” Governor Udom Emmanuel said.
Sitippe reporter learnt that the town hall meeting was necessary in order for the state government to tackle the lingering cultists/criminal activities affecting Etim Ekpo and Ukanafun communities of the state.
Meanwhile the decision of the Governor to hold security meeting in the troubled local government areas has been commended by a politician, philanthropist and banker.
Speaking during the meeting Mr Ndiana-Abasi Nana Udom said “Your Excellency, I commend you for organizing this Town Hall meeting to discuss and proffer solutions to the security challenges in Etim Ekpo and Ukanafun Local Government Areas. This is a welcome development that will restore peace and development to the the areas.”

Mr. Ndiana-Abasi Nana Udom is contesting for Ukanafun/Oruk Anam Federal Constituency seat in 2019.
The meeting had in attendance the Akwa Ibom State Governor, Mr. Udom Emmanuel and his deputy Mr Mosses Ekpo, the Commissioner of Police Akwa Ibom state Command, Mr Adeyemi Ogunyemilsu, State Director Department Of State Security, Mr. SM. Waziri, Etim Ekpo council boss, Mr Udeme Eduo amongst others.
