AKWA IBOM FAST-RISING ARTIST LAUNCHES NEW ALBUM
A fast-rising gospel music act, Princess Jessica Usoro, has launched her new album, ‘Ayom Anie?’, meaning ‘Who are you looking for?’ in Uyo Akwa Ibom state capital.
Ayom Anie is a song about the death and resurrection of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
According to the Etinan-born artiste, the song is coined from the holy scriptures in John 20:15; whom seeketh thou? Said by Jesus to Mary Magdalene at the sepulcher, and Luke 24:25: ‘why seek ye the living among the dead?’ said by an angel to the women who went for the sepulcher.
The Maiden Album Presentation which took place at the Apostolic Church, Edem Akai District, Uyo had in attendance the former Chairman of the Nigerian Labour Congress and currently the Special Assistant to the Governor on Labour and Productivity, Comrade Unyime Usoro as the Chairman of the occasion.
Comrade Usoro congratulated her for taking her music career to this level and also vowed to support her career.
Giving a speech during the album launch, Princess Jessica said the journey to produce the inspiring album was not an easy one as it took so much of her time and energy.
“I’ve gotten so many experiences and have met with different kinds of people, I’ve also met with some successful artists, music directors, studio engineers who worked for me to make this production successful”.
Princess Usoro also expressed challenge which she said was also a factor that limits upcoming gospel music artists, saying: “My main challenge in this production is finance and lack of sponsorship which has been the cause of delay in this production, but I thank God for everything that has a beginning has an end.”
Talking about her inspiration, she said her source of inspiration has always been God. “It all started when I felt sick and gave up, then later returned to life in 2013. I came back and promised my creator that I will carry on my music ministry thereafter I was released to come back to life. Ever since then, the inspiration came.”
She appreciated God for the talent as well as her family, the church, cousins and Aunties Uncles friends, and colleagues.
In attendance were Mr. Bobby Friga, President of Fellowship of Gospel Music of Nigeria, Mr. Uduak Inwang, Head Publicist akstrending.com and many others.
