Just as the spate of armed robbery has been on a high in the country, some police officers have been caught on camera taking bribe from motorists on the highway.

According to a Facebook by Aminu Gamawa, a lawyer and conflict resolution analyst, the police officers who were patrolling the highway in Gombe state, to secure the area were extorting the motorists on the road.

He advised the police authorities to ensure that the security of lives and properties are paramount in their minds and not their selfish gains.

Recently, Peter Taiwo, a 25 year old student of Moshood Abiola Polytechnic (MAPOLY) in Ogun state was battered by a police officer, Emmanuel Ogunlesi.

It was reported that the police officer had earlier attacked two female students of the same institution and had returned later to arrest them. Kehinde Bello, a student and witness, alleged that Ogunlesi attacked Taiwo who he claimed slowed him down, allowing the girls to escape.
