Poem: The Pew I love To Sit On

0

It is the pew I love to sit on
And then I watch and listen
And see heaven’s light
Pierce through my soul
Gleaming and uncovering my guilt
Leaving me empty in my soul
Defenseless
I sit and begin to feel the healing
Deep within
As the minister’s poignant gesture
And loud whisper releases
Me from worries and past
Pains
It is the pew I love to sit on
Because I feel secure
With the brethren as they
Sway in rhythm to the hymns of
The cascading voices
Peace is what I feel in this
Assembly as I sit on the
Pew I love
