The people of Ibiono Ibom are of the majority Ibibio stock. They speak Ibibio and Efik languages. Their cultural heritage include Akata, Ebre, Ekpe, Ukwa, Obon, etc. Mineral resources in the area include deposits of various stones, clay, sand and crude oil. There are forest resources such as palm trees, rubber, timber and others. Their people are predominantly farmers, traders and craftsmen. On 1st December, 2012, the 1st ever Cultural Carnival float in Ibiono Ibom Local Government Area was held. The Carnival was packaged to showcase the rich cultural potentials of our people and the composition of the local government. The 5 Geo-political zones of Ibiono Ibom and the students constituted the participants in the carnival with renowned artists within and outside Ibiono Ibom in attendance. Some of the artists were Maxwell Udo, Mish, Ann Inyang, Ice kyd, etc. Ibiono Ibom Cultural Carnival was powered by the MOSES ESSIEN-led IBIONO IBOM YOUTH FOR DEMOCRACY AND DEVELOPMENT.  Here are pictures of that event!
