Two suspected members of the Boko Haram militants have been arrested in Zaria area of Kaduna state and handed over to the police.

They were said to have disguised as members of the Jama’atu Izalatil Bid’a Wa’iqamitis Sunna (JIBWIS) First Aid Group, Daily trust reports.

According to Malam Mustapha Imam Sitti, the national director of JIBWIS First Aid Group, they were arrested following an advice that was issued to all religious groups by the military of the possibility of terrorists to use their uniforms.

Sitti said: “The first suspect was caught fully dressed in our uniform. Members of our First Aid Group (‘Yan Agaji) have their uniform. Following the military’s advice, we have introduced certain security measures. Through those measures, our members can identify themselves anywhere they meet. This was how we arrested the suspect and handed him over to the police.

“Of recent, the leader of our First Aid Group in Soba local government was matcheted to death. Therefore, the arrest of these suspects made us to believe that it was Boko Haram that killed him. We would continue to be vigilant and we want to advise all religious groups to do the same since Boko Haram have began to infiltrate our First Aid Groups.”

Report has it that the first suspect was operating under the leadership of one Hassan Mahauci who resides in Maigana, Soba local government.

Confirming the incident, Muhammad D.‎ Shehu, the police area commander in charge of Zaria headquarters said the two suspects would be‎ transferred to the police state command.

There were reports yesterday, November 18, that Nigerian troops belonging to 101 Task Force Battalion, 7 Division Garrison, along Lagos street, Maiduguri, Borno state, nabbed yet another declared wanted Boko Haram terrorists leader.

Also, Borno state command of the Nigeria police arrested yet another suspected Boko Haram kingpin, Mohammed Usman, at Abuja Talakawa ward of Maiduguri metropolis, Borno state.
