The 2017 edition of Akwa Ibom Christmas Carol Festival is here again. The event which made its first debut in 2008 as ‘9999 carols night and now officially renamed ‘Akwa Ibom Christmas Carols Festival is slated to hold on Friday December 22nd December 2017 at the Uyo Township Stadium, along Udo Umana Street in Uyo the state capital.
Akwa Ibom Christmas Carol night has grown in magnitude and repute as an evening of songs, praise and worship where Akwa Ibom people, and visitors to the state congregate in a spiritually charged atmosphere where the presence of God is brought down through songs.
The theme for this year’s edition of the Christmas festival is ‘Emmanuel God is with us”. The Bible records in the book of Matthew 1:22 how the birth of our Lord and saviour Jesus Christ which was foretold by the prophets came to pass. Jesus brought light and salvation to the world. Through him, mankind has been saved from destruction and he truly deserves our worship, adoration and praise.
That is what the Christmas Carol seeks to achieve which is to return glory to God almighty for the gift of his son and saviour, Jesus Christ who has brought salvation to the world. Yes, Akwa Ibom has every reason to celebrate, because it has been ‘God with us’ who has brought us this far from the year 1987 when the state was created out of Cross River State, and here we are at 30 waxing stronger and doing exploits.
Truly God has been with Akwa Ibom.
See you there!
