AKSG TO PROVIDE ENABLING ENVIRONMENT FOR GROWTH OF ENTERTAINMENT AND TOURISM

The Akwa Ibom State Commissioner for culture and tourism, Hon Pastor Ita Umo Udoh has reiterated Government’s willingness to partner in the development of the entertainment and tourism sector of Akwa Ibom State. The commissioner stated this at the first ever Ibom Music Summit organized by E-101 Magazine and Performing Musicians Association of Nigeria [PMAN] Akwa Ibom State Chapter to mark World Music Day.
Pastor Udoh noted that the music industry in Akwa Ibom was one that had not been fully tapped into hence the loss of revenue and wealth creation. According the culture and tourism boss, entertainment and tourism had the potentials of absorbing the youths off the streets.
He thanked the organizers of the music summit,E-101 Magazine for their foresight while pledging his support for PMAN Akwa Ibom State.
Also present at the event was the Special Adviser Bureau of Sports and Youth Development, Hon Samuel Frank who advised the musicians to stay original so as to get to the zenith of their career.
He revealed that since two thirds of musicians were youths, his bureau was ready to assist them achieve their dreams.
Other notable speakers at the summit included Hon. Monday Uko, CEO Monty Group, Christopher Stepher a.k.a Mista Xto, Nature Udoh, Moses Armstrong, Charles Amudipe of NCC and Aniekan Ekah of www.wetinhappen.blogspot.com.
Issues tackled at the summit which was attended by hundreds of participants include Piracy, Digital promotions and Branding.
